Understanding Your Light Meter And Histogram

Understanding Your Light Meter And Histogram

Saturday the 27th of August
Midland - 9.30am - 2 hours
Your light meter and histograms are incredibly important aspects of photography, understand these and your exposures will improve. I am always surprised that even people who would consider themselves intermediate photographers have not grasped that these are as important as what's know as the exposure triangle (ISO, Shutter and Aperture) in my opinion it is in fact an exposure square with metering being the forth side. Our location, a former railway yard is worth the price regardless of the theme as it has great historical buildings and industrial elements.

Photographing Australian Birds

Photographing Australian Birds

Saturday the 10th of September
Perth Zoo - 2pm - 2 hours
One of the biggest problems with bird photography is finding birds or getting them to stay in one spot to capture them. This week we will increase our chances of getting some great shots by spending our time within the main aviary at Perth Zoo. This houses Australian water birds within a natural looking wetland and some others that kept in aviaries. We will be playing with shutter speed and to find the balance between having the shutter speed fast enough to capture a bird in flight whilst achieving the depth of field that we want.

Our Beginners Guide to Night Photography is perfect for you to learn some of the techniques used for night time photography in a small, 3 hour class. Macro in the Suburbs

Macro in the Suburbs

Saturday the 24th of September
Warwick - 9:30am - 2 hours
This area of bushland although right in the middle of busy roads and housing is known to have many orchids and other wildflowers. You will learn the required settings (which may surprise you) to get awesome sharp wildflower shots. Depth of field is key to this balanced with a fast enough shutter speed to capture a tiny flower which is moving in the wind.

Join the Perth Photography Facebook Group here to share your photos after the session.

We ask that everyone attending a meetup follows social distancing guidelines:

Stay home if you're sick.
Keep 1.5 metres away from others.
Don't make unnecessary physical contact with others. Avoid physical greetings, such as handshakes, hugs and kisses.
Wash your hands regularly with alcohol-based sanitiser.
Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Use a flexed elbow or a tissue; if you use a tissue, dispose of it immediately and appropriately.

Small groups make for more thorough teaching, learnt lots of functions on my camera then how to put them into practice. Great course, would highly recommend for beginners or as a refresher course
